The castle of Vianden was build between 11th and 14th century and is said to be one of the largest and most beautiful castles of this time in Europe.
Unfortunately it was in left without care from mid 16th century and was in very bad condition in 1977 when the Grand Duke passed the ownership to the State of Luxembourg.
In the following years the castle was stunningly restored and is now a magnificent masterpiece of past times.
