Before posting more daily reports about our adventures on our Ireland roadtrip, I thought it would be fun to share some facts and figures ... and much more.
On this map by google, you can see the complete route which we covered.
Glencarrig Farmhouse B&B is the perfect spot for exploring Loop Head Peninsula.
It's located just outside Carrigaholt, so it's perfect too if you wanna go on a dolphin watch sailing, on a fishing trip with the owner Luke or spend a day at Kilkee beach, wich is only about 10 km away.
The B&B is nice and cozy, only the bathrooms are a bit dated, but that's nothing that bothers me generally as long as everything's clean.
After we spend a pleasant night in Limerick, had a yummy breakfast and visited the city by walking and walking some more, we hopped into our Qashqai and headed west again.
distance: 100 km
route: about 1 hour 50 min
I had hoped I could keep up with blogging during our round trip through Ireland, but it soon became clear that there was no time left for blogging.
So, with a little delay...here comes the first blog about our round trip through parts of Ireland.
Ten days ago, we left for Dublin, flights had been booked, most of the hotels / B&Bs too and I had an itinerary and places in mind I wanted to see and show the kids.
Our baby girl was quite excited the week prior to our departure, as this was the kid's first flight ever. The boys' excitement started only to show the same day than we left.
Fortunately our plane left only at 11:40 am, so we didn't have to start the day in a hurry and leave home in early morning hours.
We arrived in Dublin around 1:00 p.m after a pleasant flight and nice first experience above clouds for the kids.
To me it had been something special too as this had been my first time on a plane in 11 years. I do remember well my last flight in June 2007, as it was back then, after returning from TT @ IOM that we found out I was pregnant with our eldest son.
