Switzerland: where to eat in Thun, Interlaken, Beatenberg

Sat 17 Sep 2016

Gasthaus Riedboden - BEATENBERG
our favorite place to eat

. . . and the winner is:

GASTHAUS RIEDBODEN

We went there for dinner twice, and unfortunately it was fully booked on our last evenig, otherwise we would have made it three.

I won't talk to much: great food, great staff, great prices, little playground, bunnies, great view . . . .what more to say ?

You absolutely have to go there and you'll be delighted.

The owners Brigitte and Markus Jaun take a great interest in their guests, and leave their beloved kitchen on each service to enquire personally on each table about their guests well-being.

They do also have standard rooms, family rooms and even group accommodation for up to 10 p. per room.

Please give it a try!

Vegetarian selection on the menu.

Horrible accommodation in Switzerland

Fri 29 Jul 2016

The recommendations and good quality appartments represented on the official website of the tourisme board of Beatenberg www.beatenberg.ch are to be trusted cautiously.

Information given on accomodations to rent are only texts copied to their homepage, and once a problem occures, there's no response and no responsibility taken. At least that was ou experience while our recent stay in Switzerland/Beatenberg.

In Spring this year we had decided to spend our summer holidays in Switzerland, and as I had some good memories related to a summer holiday in Beatenberg (canton Bern / Switzerland) over twenty years ago, we booked an appartment in an traditional old swiss chalet.

We were happy to find a three bedroom chalet spacious enough for our family of five, accepting dogs and being centrally located in Beatenberg.

Soon after we had arrived we discovered our own little hell in a wonderful heavenly surrounding.

Walensee and Flumserberg

Thu 12 May 2016

In August 2013 we spent a week in Walensee Resort in Switzerland at the lake Walen in the cantons St Gallen and Glarus.

This resort ist partially managed by LANDAL RESORTS, a group operating in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary.

We already stayed in different Landal Resorts and were very satisfied each time.

This resort features great apartments in a great location just on the shores of the lake Walen.

There is a small indoor swimming pool, an indoor playground, outdoor playgrounds, a tennis /football court.

Some restaurants, a small grocery shop/bakery as well as a intersport shop are on the premises, another grocery shop, bakery a.s.o. in the village.

The resorts is on walking distance to the gondola lifts bringing you up to the Flumserberg and above (up to 2.222 m).

There are plenty of nice spaces and spots to visit in this area, even with younger children.

We can absolutely recommend the Landal Walensee resort.
