Kings Cross Inn was the third hotel I had booked for my weekend stay in London.
As I was leaving fom Kings Cross / St Pancras Int. Station on Monday morning that was the best option.
The hotel is situated just opposite of Kings Cross / St.Pancras Int. and easy to find.
I was surprised to find out at check in that wifi was not included, but this was my misunderstanding, as I saw afterwards that this is clearly mentioned on their website (£2 for 1 hour and £20 for unlimited use).
The receptionist was not very friendly, but hey...
I payed about £65 for a double room ensuite for single use, without breakfast or wifi.
Saturday I checked in at London City Hotel (Borough) but after nearly 22km (14mi) of walking through London I was too tired to blog.
I just checked in at Camden Lock Hotel, and though it might not look stunning from the outside, I completely agree with the positive reviews I read.
As I was looking for an apartment for our stay on NYE only few weeks before NYE, the apartment on St George Wharf we previously stayed in was booked, and the alternative apartments available at the squa.re didn't match my criteria.
So I kept on checking many many many websites and contacted many operators until after another numerous mails I received a mail on Dec. 13th with following content (yes we intended to arrive on 28th - I told you it was short notice)
' Hi Michele

When we first stayed in London with the kids, we had booked an apartment via House of Modern Living, wich is now called the square.
The apartment was on St George Wharf in Vauxhall.
Though it's a tiny bit from the main attractions in London, it a great location to be.
You have great connections by tube and bus, and are located on the Riverside Walk (leading west) and close to the Queens Walk (Lambeth Bridge to Tower Bridge), so you can walk from the apartment to the Tower Bridge.
A Tesco Express is on the premises as well as an art gallery, some restaurants, a gym and more. Nevertheless it's a quite area - our apartment was not noisy at all though a restaurant with terrace on the ground floor exactly under our apartment.
